This project was purely an ‘after work‘ effort and it took a long time from start to finish – close to a year, but busy life took the precedence and I only was able to dedicate around an hour a month.

So it wasn‘t in any way a ‘sprint‘ effort to develop it in a week or something like that.

I‘m just glad that I was able to finally finish it and get it out there. If there is enough interest, I‘m going to open source the code, so it could evolve more quickly, etc.

Well, i‘m interested, specially because is pretty good to know how “things works”

open source it man!

Dmitriy Kopylenko on Mon, 18 Aug 2008

Will do. I‘m planning to put it on GitHub to really streamline the community contribution.

This site could evolve into a powerful community place, with feeds, ‘member endorsements‘, profile photos, code snippets, etc., etc. And it will only be possible with an open source model, or so I believe :-)

I‘m all for putting it on GitHub!

I would like to submit some bugs and suggestions for improvement, but don‘t know where to do that.

I don‘t think that GitHub has a built-in project management system, but there‘s plenty out there, such as SourceForge, Lighthouse, etc. I don‘t know if Jira has anything that‘s free, but I use it at work and it‘s decent.

For now I‘ve set up the ‘Get Satisfaction‘ account. See the link in the footer: ‘Report a problem or make a suggestion‘

The more robust and generic inter-member messaging system is in the works. Thanks to Alex Peters
